snow day...again!

Derek came home early from work and rushed outside to make this creation while Kaleb and I snuggled and watched from inside the warm house!!!

Kaleb turned 3 months old Friday and he got to spend it with mommy AND daddy in the BEAUTIFUL snow!!! His first week of daycare wasn't so bad after all...I got to spend 2 days with him due to snow! I am such a kid at heart and was so excited about the snow I actually wondered for a moment if Kaleb was big enough to go sledding with me. Silly mom, but I can't wait for the day! Wait a minute, yes I can! My attempts at not allowing Kaleb to grow up are failing miserably! He is growing so fast yet Derek and I both noticed he seemed to lose weight this week. I don't know if daycare hasn't been feeding him to satiety or if he's just losing some baby fat? He hardly ever spits up (dr. brown's bottles are AWESOME!) but switching him to a medium flow nipple this week has caused him to spit up quite a bit. We may need to keep him on slow flow for a bit longer. Or perhaps all those baby exercises are turning fat into muscle!

Although daycare has been great in that he sees new faces and is stimulated and smiling each time I pick him up, he does poop in his diaper now (a feat which, although great in that he's less fussy in his newfound realization that he is a big boy and can go at will without mom & dad being present, saddens us because we were counting on his "no dirty diaper" policy to have him potty trained at 6 months! Ha! He is also not only completely off schedule but he's hardly napping at all! The first day, the care worker kept him right on schedule but when I checked his schedule all other days he had taken about 4 naps at about 15 minutes each. She even mentioned she had forgotten to note one more cat nap and I said "thank goodness because he's hardly napped, how long was it?" 5 minutes was the reply. Now was that even worth mentioning?!

So Kaleb sleeps when he gets home and we don't get as much time as we like with him. It's okay...Kaleb shouldn't be in day care too much longer. To Derek's surprise I will be purchasing a FOR SALE sign at home depot today to see if we can't get our home sold =)) Not kidding but I would like to keep Kaleb in day care or mother's day out at least a few days a week since he seems to enjoy the change of pace and seeing all the kiddos and babies. Can't wait for baby gabe, baby chandler, baby moomey, baby Barnard, and baby Yaz (am I missing anyone!??) to arrive; we won't need daycare, we'll have all our small group babies to play with!!!

Matt & Lenee hanging out with Kaleb Friday
that face!

brushing out kaleb's cradle cap and this is the result! he LOVES being groomed. perfectly content.
