Other new developments: he started on rice cereal a couple weeks ago and can hold his 8 oz bottle for an entire feeding. Also, his old best friend is his donkey toy and new best friend is FOOD--he drops his donkey and grabs at our food and his eyes light up whenever there are sandwiches, cookies, chips within arms reach--I need to call the doc and see if we should be feeding him baby food now! He seems ready! He's laughing more each week and is SUCH a daddy's boy right now! Derek picks him up and tilts his whole body from one side to the other like a clock pendulum and in an English accent says "the time is now midnight...the hour has come" and Kaleb LOVES it!!! One look from daddy and Kaleb's whole world is perfect!
Funniest thing this week has been Kaleb's sleeping style; he will only sleep on his side and has mastered the art of side sleeping by straightening one leg and bending his other leg and throwing it over the straightened leg. He then tucks and anchors his toes underneath the straight leg to use his weight to keep his body turned sideways. This pose doesn't cause him to be completely on his side so he turns his head to the side and up so it looks like he's trying to look behind him--these two poses together are hilarious and looks like a baby pilates pose! I need to get a pic of this! Anyways, here are the last two weeks in review:
Kisses for Riley
kaleb had a huge drool pool going on and right when he was held over riley, it dripped onto riley's cheek! no matter who steals her heart, kaleb gave her sweet kisses first! He was also reaching out and touching her face and arms at the shower but I don't have pics yet!
sitting with mommy at the table. mmm mmm rice ceral in the bottle
rice cereal from a spoon
bath time
this pic is at 3 1/2 months
4 1/2 months! you can clearly see his fat chunks have deepened!

bath time is always followed by massage time. Kaleb smiles the second mama begins to massage his chunky little legs and arms. It's a professional massage; I keep one leg covered and warm as I do the other leg then switch just like a professional masseuse. Sometimes, just for kicks, after the massage we prop him up on his side and he looks like a Greek god or great thinker in Socrates' day--he looks regal, healthy, full and relaxed in a state of pondering--he's got the whole look! All that's missing is daddy feeding him grapes!
