The Burns Family: 6 months and sitting up!

halfway to my 1st Birthday!

kaleb's activities this 6th month:

♥sitting up
♥laughing for long periods just this week when I stick out my tongue and make noises, when I fake hiccup, when daddy plays peekaboo from behind the kitchen island, when we acknowledge you playing in your exersaucer!
♥Mimicking me and sticking out your tongue
♥Opening your mouth when I say "open your mouth"--you even made an "ah" sound just like mama did when you opened!
♥(starting at 5 months) as you're laying down we say "give me your hands" and you lift your arms up to us and reach for us. We then grab your hands and say "1-2-3" and you start to lift yourself up and again say "1-2-3" and you stand up. We're hardly helping you at all. You do such a great job!
♥ scooting forward on your tummy, pushing your butt up and pushing forward with your feet like an inchworm to grab at toys just out of reach
♥nearly propelling yourself off of your changing table; we can't let you out of sight for one moment!
♥ feeding yourself with your bottle with ease (even though you can do it yourself we still use feeding time to feed you ourselves and cuddle =))

We showered Leigh and baby Hallee this past weekend. Leigh got LOTS of good stuff. Hallee is definitely going to be spoiled!! Big sister Sydney got to open all of Hallee's gifts!

Kaleb got lots of good stuff at Leigh's shower too! He got his paci AND Riley's paci! Andrea commented about kaleb's pink paci he had just taken out of his mouth only to see a blue paci in his other hand as he popped that into his mouth. He had stolen Riley's paci and was alternating sucking between the two. Riley is definitely going to need to teach him a lesson or two when she's older! We also were invited over for smoked brisket at the Purcells. YUMMY!!! First time eating brisket and definitely won't be my last. It was a very fun (and funny) night with the gang. Us girls managed to get the baby monitor near the kitchen to listen in on the guys! Fun times! Kaleb also managed to smash a chocolate chip cookie in his face while I was in the bathroom! Spoiled by daddy again. Thanks again for the hospitality and GOOD SOUTHERN COOKIN' Lauren & Jason!
