A California Christmas

Oh how sweet it was to be home for Christmas! We were in California last two years ago at Christmas so I have definitely been homesick! How special this trip was! Kaleb met his great grandmother for the first time and our family in Michigan flew in to celebrate with us! We were blessed with a packed house and not only did we get to celebrate Kaleb’s 1st birthday and 2nd Christmas together, we got the news that Kaleb will soon have a cousin! My sister is expecting this summer! Pardon all the pics, I have two years to make up for!

The Saturday night we arrived our friends had their annual Christmas dinner party so we stopped in for lots of kisses and hugs! We are a group that has spent nearly every waking moment together--from bible studies, college group, Friday night ministry, mission trips--they are truly God's love exemplified and I never thought I'd be as blessed. I called Katie before boarding the plane and couldn't contain the tears on the flight. When we got to the party, Katie confessed she had cried for half an hour after hanging up! It was a Christmas story dress up dinner so there were a few lampshades walking around and Jessica was Cindy Lou-Hou! Sooo cute!!!

Then it was off to Laguna Beach for a family dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, Mastro's.

The Christmas Eve service was held the next morning and Katie sang! So beautiful! Then it was off to our usual spot for brunch--Mimi's Cafe!

Kaleb's first 1st Birthday party in California!
Thanks Uncle Danny and Aunt Linda for the yummy cake! It was good enough to dig into with bare hands but Kaleb again just picked at it daintily like he did at his Arkansas Birthday party!

Kaleb's second 1st Birthday party in California!
My mom, Tracy, and Steve really outdid themselves with this one! Mom and Tracy spent all day decorating and Steve catered the party. Over 50 of our friends and family came over to celebrate and shower Kaleb with love. We are overwhelmed by all of your love and the many, many gifts! Thank you all, we love you and are blessed beyond words!!!
