this 7th month Kaleb is:
- saying "mama" and "dadadada" (6 1/2 months). Derek called me and told me excitedly that he said "mama" and said "it was beautiful." Even if kaleb doesn't associate "mama" with mommy yet, I bet I know what his first word will be if I have anything to say about it! Although, I might be wrong because now "dadadada" dominates the babble-fests. I'll say "Kaleb say MA-MA" and he'll look up at me with those eyes, smile really big, and say "DADADADADADA!!" His voice is so sweet, breathy, and girly sounding it is PRECIOUS!
- pushing up with his hands and feet so his butt is in the air (he looks like a bridge). His favorite position to sleep in is similar to this. He snuggles his face into the sheet, tucks his knees under him, and pushes his butt up in the air. I'll post a pic soon.
- so mobile and on the move, still our little ball of energy always wanting to stand up and "walk" while daddy holds him and he'll try so hard to imitate me when I push up with my hands and pull my legs under to crawl. He's not quite there...he still pushes his butt up and inches forward. He rolls all over the bed and spins 360 to take in everything.
- working on his muscles by curling! He'll rest his elbow on daddy's shoulder and curl his forearm in several repetitions. He's always flicking his hand as well and it's even more fun for him when mama's face is in the way. He also loves banging things on the table or banging two things together.
- touching, grabbing, or holding EVERYTHING in sight. If I bend down to grab a diaper off the ground and his bouncy seat is within arm's reach, he'll grab the arched portion and as I lift Kaleb back up to throw away the diaper, a huge bouncy seat is dangling by my baby's arm! When we were out to dinner he also pushed the table from underneath with his feet and the whole table lifted up on one end. This child is ROWDY!
