AVOCADO!!

CLAPPY CLAPPY

what I've been up to this 10th month:
  • eating mashed green beans, avocado, pasta noodles, bread, banana-yogurt, and doing great chewing my cherry puffs WHOLE! I'm getting picky with baby food. I no longer like chicken with veggies and will put my hand up like a stop sign in front of my mouth and refuse to eat it. I LOVE PLAIN ham, turkey, chicken or lamb baby food and will eat two at a time with a side item like fruit or green beans and rice. Finger foods are my FAVORITE. I get so excited and so proud when I feed myself! I eat 3 meals of food a day plus a snack and four 6 oz bottles. I nap twice a day (2 short naps) since I expend SO much energy!

  • I'm Mr. Clappy Clapperson! I used to clap correctly on occasion but at most other times would slap the top of my left hand with my right. Well, this past weekend my clap was perfected and I have been clapping non-stop and am SUPER proud of myself!

  • I LOVE to play "Indian" when papa, mama, or dada puts their hand over my mouth so I can sound-off like a little Indian! I also play by myself when no one else is helping me out by using my fist in my mouth! Papa taught me this game and now it's my favorite!!

  • I'm standing on my own for a few seconds and my whole body gets stiff in excitement and I thrust my hands out straight in front of me and make a "Hoahhh" sound. This is my characteristic "omg I am so excited" indicator. I try to let go of mama's hand when she's holding me in a standing position because I want to try to stand on my own! I just learned to climb up and down on the guest mattress which is laying on the floor! It is so fun! I go up and down all morning long!

  • favorite toys are still mama's swiffer, books, piano, abc pad, and my puppy dog on a leash that grandma bought for me. I love pulling up on my jungle gym mat and shaking the whole thing and dancing to the music or to High School Musical! I hold onto my toys while crawling so I'll have a toy in each hand which sometimes makes me slip and slide all over the floor and socks in my mouth are ALWAYS a favorite!

  • I threw a temper tantrum Friday each time I woke up at night and was in my crib. I kept mommy and daddy up ALL night. Mama had to put her foot down and not give a bottle in the middle of the night. Instead, mama and dada got to stay up all night long soothing me and placing me in my crib until I'd wake up again, throw a fit, and we'd have to start all over again.) FUN NIGHT!!! (Little man, I actually made a doctor appt. for you since you were screaming so incredibly loud I thought you might be having stomach issues from an allergic reaction. I cancelled as it turns out you were just having a CONNIPTION=)))

**new update: Mr. Personality is testing Mama's patience! Having fits at night is Kaleb's new thing these days. We are really having to discipline you little one! After 8 months of sleeping through the night you have been waking up and wanting out of your crib. We've let you cry it out in your crib the past week and the crying fits are getting significantly shorter. I just lay on the couch and pray for you to be calm and sleepy! Last night when we put you down at 8:30 you only cried about 5 minutes, soothed yourself to sleep and slept through the night! The extra sleep was much appreciated! You are learning independence honey! I sure hope this phase is short lived!

**update: while reading your animal book to you I was pointing to the duck and saying "duck, duck!" and you were stroking the soft feathers and said "du! du! du!"

We love you so much sweetheart! We are so blessed by your rambunctious spirit and your smiles that just light up our world! Daddy had surgery today on his broken thumb so mama and dada got to go out to eat together. Then I dropped daddy off and set him up on the couch with a movie, his controls, everything he needed before I left for work. Honey, all he wanted was YOU! The gray tee you wore yesterday was laying on the couch and daddy picked it up, held it close, and breathed it in! I did too and it smelled of your baby powder fresh diaper and your sweet skin. We are blessed beyond words and are so grateful to God for entrusting you to our care. LOVE HUGS & KISSES sugar!
